Laurie Ender
Laurie Ender is the current president of the Board of Directors for Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley. She joined the board shortly before the program began operations in June of 2011 and has become a vocal advocate for homeless children and families.

Ender’s community service experience is extensive. She has been the Santa Clarita Valley Council PTA president, a member of the board of directors of the YMCA and part of the advisory council for the Child and Family Center. Ender was also a five-year member of the City of Santa Clarita’s Parks, Recreation & Community Services Commission and served for a term on the City Council where she was also Mayor. She is a self-proclaimed cheerleader for the Santa Clarita Valley and maintains a passion for community collaboration and volunteerism.

After graduating from Pepperdine University with a degree in Broadcast Journalism, Ender worked as a producer for many years at both “Entertainment Tonight” and “Access Hollywood.” She and her husband, Chris, have three sons and have lived in Santa Clarita since 1992.

Mike is Vice President and Co-Owner of EFBE Inc. Founded in 2010, EFBE Inc. owns and operates seven e-commerce websites specializing in backyard related items, with a specialty in swimming pools. They have shipping warehouses in Ontario, CA and Nashville, TN, call centers in US and Mexico and ship worldwide daily. In addition, EFBE Inc, provides installation and service on the products it sells in the SoCal area under the name Pool Supply Unlimited. Mike also serves as Co-Lay Leader of the United Methodist Church of Valencia. Mike received his Bachelor of Science in Business from University of Phoenix.

Brittany is a Financial Analyst for the City of Santa Clarita and is currently responsible for the City’s investments, debt service, and fee schedule. She is also the Finance Liaison for the Public Works Department. Preceeding this, she served as the Financial Analyst responsible for grants and transit, and served as the Finance Liaison for the Capital Improvement Division.

Prior to working for the City, Brittany worked for a local transportation consulting firm where she handled the company’s bookkeeping and prepared Triennial Performance Audits, On-Board Bus Survey Reports, Short Range Transit Plans, and Transit Development Plans. Brittany received her Bachelors of Science Degree from California State University Northridge in Accountancy and Management. She is currently working towards her Master’s Degree in Public Administration.

Dee Dee Jacobson

Dee Dee has been supporting the very near and dear mission of Family Promise as an executive board member for the past two years. As a mother to a wonderful daughter and a SCV resident for the past 24 years, Dee Dee has been very active in the lives of the children the valley from PTA President at Helmers Elementary to PTSA President at Rio Norte Junior High, and the Director of Membership for the SCV Council PTA. She was also a member of the Parent Communications Council at the Hart School District. Venturing in to city planning, she was a member of the SCV Planning Commission for four years.

Amber Alexander
Amber and her husband, Kenny, produce the Red Bull Day in the Dirt Motocross Grand Prix. Locally, she produced the Over the Hump Mountain Bike Race series at Castaic Lake. Amber has lived in the Santa Clarita Valley for most of her life, attending elementary school, junior high, high school and COC before moving on to UCLA. Raising her family here, she volunteered in all the schools as her children progressed through them. Amber has co-chaired Family Promise’s Box City event for the past three years.

Jerrid Mckenna
Jerrid oversees a variety of projects in the City Manager’s Office, as Administrative Analyst; however, his primary role for the City is managing public safety services and issues in the City of Santa Clarita. Most recently Jerrid has become the City’s lead point of contact for local homeless issues. Jerrid began his professional career with the City in 2012 as a Recreation Coordinator and Program Specialist in the Youth Sports office and went on in early 2015 to worked for the City Manager’s Office as a Communications Specialist. Jerrid received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Master in Public Administration from California State University, Northridge.

Melissa Roux
MacKinnon

The Reverend Melissa Roux MacKinnon is a native Southern Californian, born and raised in Glendale, California. She attended Herbert Hoover High School where she met her husband David. Melissa and David were married in 1991 and now have two sons.

Melissa received her BA degree in psychology from Cal State University Bakersfield in 1990. She had a short career working in the mental health field before hearing the call to ordained ministry. In 1999 she graduated with her Master of Divinity from The Divinity School at Duke University and was ordained a Deacon in the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. Then in 2002, Melissa and Dave had the opportunity to move home and serve at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Arcadia, California. Melissa has been appointed to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church as an associate pastor in July of 2002. In July of 2010 she was appointed as Lead Pastor of Santa Clarita UMC.
