Executive Director
Carmen Garcia brings over 20 years of nonprofit leadership experience to her role as Executive Director of Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley. A passionate advocate for families experiencing homelessness, Carmen leads with compassion, innovation, and a deep understanding of the barriers families face—many of which she has experienced firsthand.

Her career spans executive roles at mission-driven organizations including Grandparents As Parents and Extraordinary Families, where she secured transformational funding and expanded essential services. Carmen holds a master’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management and multiple certifications in organizational leadership. She is committed to building equitable, community-driven solutions that empower families to achieve lasting stability.

Rubi Torres
Case Manager
Rubi brings a wealth of experience to her role, having served as a case manager in the mental health field and as a Child Developmental Specialist working with children aged 0-3 years in both the San Fernando Valley and Antelope Valley. With a passion for aiding families through their unique journeys, Rubi eagerly anticipates the opportunity to extend her support to those in need.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Rubi finds immense joy in spending quality time with her 5-year-old son, cherishing every moment of their shared experiences. An avid traveler, she seeks out new adventures and experiences, enriching her life and broadening her perspectives.
Looking ahead, Rubi has set her sights on furthering her education to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), driven by her desire to expand her skills and enhance her ability to positively impact the lives of others.

Program Director
Monica is a dedicated community leader and social impact strategist with a strong track record of launching and managing transformative programs. In 2018, she supported the launch of the first men’s recovery program at the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission focused on long-term rehabilitation and holistic support, setting a new standard for local recovery services. In 2020, she Co-founded alongside her husband the first Valley Community Fridges initiative, a grassroots mutual aid network that addressed food insecurity through accessible, community-run fridges.

With extensive experience in nonprofit development, Monica has successfully managed a portfolio of major donors. She also served on the board of directors for About My Father's Business, contributing strategic leadership and community outreach expertise.

As a program developer, she played a pivotal role in designing the case management framework for the first Safe Park program in the San Fernando Valley, providing essential services and support to unhoused individuals living in their vehicles. Monica's work continues to center on equity, compassion, and innovation in service to marginalized communities.

Case Manager
Araceli brings a warm and compassionate approach to her role as Case Manager with a background in early childhood education and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Family Studies. She is deeply passionate about helping families navigate the complexities of everyday life. She provides support, resources, and guidance to families in need, focusing on building strong, lasting relationships within the community.
Outside of her professional life, Araceli loves spending time with her loved ones, enjoying the outdoors, and taking road trips to discover new places. Her personal experiences fuel her drive to continue learning, with plans to further her education and pursue a career as a family therapist deepening her ability to make a lasting impact on the lives of the families she serves.
