Thank you. Thank you for taking a moment to read and understand the urgent need to address family homelessness in our community.
Family Promise of Santa Clarita Valley has seen, firsthand, what this kind of devastation can do to a family. Fathers who look at their family and wonder what they will eat that night and how they will ever get back on track. Mothers who will put their children to bed in the backseat of a car, a tent, in a park, or hidden behind a building. Parents who are getting up in the morning to another day of exhaustion and lost hope. Children who are confused, missing school and are chronically hungry.
If you are like me, you are probably thinking that this cannot be happening in our community. It is. There are many reasons that families face this kind of emergency, but thankfully, we have resources to offer them. Every day we witness the positive and life changing impact that our programs make. The Building Hope…Our Family Promise capital campaign will not only help us build the new Resource Center and four Affordable Housing Units, but it will also help rebuild families from an unpredictable and frightening time in their lives back to a place of employment and safe, secure housing.
At FPofSCV, we know we are making a difference for families. We offer a way up and out of homelessness that can be a solution instead of temporary fix.
Please consider joining our efforts in “Building Hope…Our Family Promise” capital campaign. I invite you to visit our office, hear the stories of our families and sit down with our staff and myself to learn how you can get Involved. Please contact me at (661) 234-8096 or email: rvermaak@familypromisescv.org to schedule a time to meet.
