Success Story for November, 2011
Exciting News!
Our most recent family is graduating from our program! Mom signed a lease today and will be moving in to their new place tomorrow.
It was so touching to see the smiles on the children’s faces when they got back from school and were told they got their own place and would be moving in tomorrow!
Because of Family Promise of SCV, this family received the temporary housing and support services they needed and the children were able to attend their home schools in Newhall without ever having missed a day of school. When the family had nowhere to turn, Family Promise was there to provide the little assistance and support they needed which allowed them to get back on their feet in just 19 days. How amazing!
As their graduation gift, the family was given toiletries and a new dish set. The 2 year old daughter receive a new doll to play with while the 14 year old daughter selected 4 books from our very well stocked library, and the boys took home one of our donated basketballs.
Before leaving the family expressed their deepest gratitude for the services they received during their time of need.

Success Story for October, 2011
Word from our Director: I want share some wonderful news... Our guest and her elementary school aged son graduated our program today!
Last week, after working with her for 89 days, our guest was offered a job which she happily accepted. She is scheduled to start this coming Wednesday. She is currently looking for her own place closer to her new job, but in the meantime she will be renting a room from someone she met through one of our participating congregations for a very moderate price.
It's such a great feeling knowing we have successfully graduated another family from our program and one who has secured a promising job and a safe place to stay. So many people have touched our guests' lives. She is very grateful for the encouragement, the kind words, the gifts, and the hospitality that was bestowed upon her and her son. Before leaving she said, "Thank you for everything! Family Promise has done more than just providing us with a temporary home and warm meals... it gave us hope and the opportunity to a bright future."
